Be sure to check out the holiday tree and display at City Hall! We are especially thankful to Alberta Tomsic of the Indian Hills neighborhood in Columbus for the donation of the 50-foot Norway spruce. The tree lighting cermony will take place at City Hall on Tuesday, November 27 at 5 p.m., and the tree and decorations will be on display throughout the holiday season.
The annual tree lighting tradition will feature holiday carols by the Columbus Children’s Choir and a visit by the Nutcracker and Clara. Santa Claus will be making a special appearance as he arrives in a Creative Coaches Trolley and is escorted by the all-tuba ensemble TubaChristmas.
This year’s tree lighting event will celebrate the spirit of giving with “Empty Bowls”—a fundraising effort to support the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Homemade chicken noodle soup, bread, and a handmade bowl, will be available for $10. Soup is available for purchase separately for $2.
This year’s tree and holiday decorations feature environmentally friendly LED lighting which provides more light, while dramatically reducing energy costs.
