By Bike-

Pedal Instead
Pedal Instead is a program that encourages people to bike to festivals and special events rather than drive their automobiles. Pedal Instead is a bicycle corral, including a temporary fence, bicycle racks and volunteers who provide valet bike parking service. The corral is staffed during festival hours.

There is no charge for the service. Pedal Instead is one of Mayor Coleman's green initiatives and Recreation and Parks is managing the program. The volunteers at the bike corral track the miles each cyclist rides and from that the gallons of gasoline saved and the pounds of carbon kept from entering the atmosphere can be figured.
